BOSTON — Authorities say a man has been arrested in connection with suspicious devices that were found hanging from power lines in Massachusetts.

The FBI said 61-year-old Danny M. Kelly was arrested Saturday morning at his home in Chelmsford.

The Tyngsboro Fire Department on Wednesday found the devices while responding to a brush fire.

Authorities say the devices looked like pipe bombs but were intended to start a fire rather than an explosion. They believe one of the devices was used to start the brush fire.

The FBI doesn’t believe there’s any threat to public safety.

The investigation is ongoing.

The FBI didn’t say what charges Kelly faces.

It’s unclear whether he has an attorney who could comment.
