A 48-year-old woman died suddenly Saturday afternoon inside the Starbucks coffee shop at 592 Congress St., Portland police said.

Police said they responded about 4 p.m. to a call saying that a woman had collapsed inside the Starbucks. The Portland Fire Department also responded, but an emergency medical team was unable to revive the woman, police said.

The death is not regarded as suspicious, they said, adding that the woman’s body was taken to a funeral home.

Police said they had not yet notified next of kin as of late Saturday and probably would not release the woman’s name until Monday.
