Several fire trucks responded late Tuesday morning to reports of a fire in the basement of an apartment building on Danforth Street in Portland’s West End.

Upon arrival, firefighters found minor smoke but no visible flames coming from the building at 218 Danforth St. Officials at the scene said the fire was believed to be electrical and were inspecting the building. No one was hurt.

Police assisted in closing off a section of Danforth Street to divert motorists from the scene.
