BIDDEFORD — A group of Biddeford High School (BHS) students are piloting the first ever York County Emergency Management Agency Student Tools for Emergency Planning Program to ensure our community is prepared.

The five seniors spent a full day in training learning the difference between emergencies versus disasters; how to develop a communication plan with your family, what should be in your emergency kit and how to teach fifth graders at Biddeford Intermediate School to be prepared and safe in an emergency disaster situation.

“This pilot program is free to school departments, and we were delighted that Biddeford is taking on this important initiative,” stated YCEMA Preparedness and Planning Manager Megan Arsenault. BHS is proud of Joshua Dutremble, Alex Keely, Jessica Letellier, Jeremy Lugiano and Jocelyn Moody for their efforts to support Biddeford’s families and stepping up to be in this crucial pilot project.
