MONACO (AP) — Bulgarian triple jumper Gabriela Petrova has had her provisional doping suspension lifted after a change in the guidelines regarding the banned substance meldonium.

Petrova won silver at last year’s European indoor championships. She had been suspended after testing positive for meldonium, which was banned from Jan. 1.

The IAAF says “we lifted the provisional suspension and the disciplinary proceedings are stayed” after new recommendations from the World Anti-Doping Agency.

WADA last week revised its guidance for meldonium cases to allow an athlete to escape suspension if the concentration of the substance in their sample was low enough to indicate the athlete stopped taking the Latvian-made heart drug before it was banned.
