This year, Leslie Guerin will celebrate two milestones.
Next month, the native Mainer will turn 40. This fall, she’ll celebrate 10 years as the owner of a fitness studio.
BarSculpt, at 45 Casco St., was opened in September 2006 under the name Pure Movement. The studio features a fitness routine developed by Guerin that often incorporates a ballet barre into the routine, hence the studio’s name.
Guerin said the best part of the job is it’s ever-changing nature. Each student comes with a set of unique challenges and goals, and she enjoys “helping people through body changes, challenges (and) injuries.
The administrative side of the job, however, can be a grind.
“I find the business aspect of owning a business harder than teaching and doing what I love,” she said.
