PALMER, Mass. — Two Millinocket women were arrested in Palmer, Massachusetts, Wednesday after two officers checking out a suspicious car in a cemetery found nearly 1,200 bags of heroin inside the car.

Ann-Marie Dejesus, 28, and Angela Wheatley, 29, were charged with trafficking, conspiracy, possession and a drug violation near a school, according to a release from the Palmer Police Department.

The officers were investigating the car parked at the rear of the Four Corners Cemetery, which abuts the property of Old Mill Pond School on Main Street in Thorndike, police said. After spotting the heroin and searching the car, they found 1,193 bags of heroin, nearly 4 grams of cocaine, hash oil and $144 in cash.

The women were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
