Eager players and their families showed they were ready to get into the swing of baseball and softball season on Saturday at Opening Day ceremonies for Portland Little League at Payson Park. The league, run entirely by volunteers, boasts 62 teams with 680 participants. Players from ages 4 to 16 compete at levels starting with tee-ball on up through the majors.
