PORTLAND — Thompson’s Point will be in bloom in 2017 as the new home of the Maine Flower Show.

Don Sproul, executive director of the Maine Landscape & Nursery Association, announced the show Tuesday at a press conference. The show will run March 29-April 2, 2017.

At least 20 display gardens are planned in a space expected to be 67 percent larger than at the site of the 2015 flower show, Sproul said.

MELNA President Jake Pierson said the show will also feature speakers and demonstrations. The Good Shepherd Food Bank is the chosen charity for the show.

Past flower shows were held at the Portland Co. complex at 58 Fore St.
