YORK — Julia Harrod hit a tie-breaking, two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, and York High defeated Wells 3-1 on Wednesday in a schoolgirl softball game.

York pitcher Stephanie Rundlett struck out 18  to reach 538 career strikeouts as she threw a three-hitter to help the Wildcats improve to 8-1.

The Warriors (4-5) rallied to tie the game in the top of the sixth when Anya Chase singled and scored on a passed ball.

Kiley Blondin singled and doubled for the Wildcats.

Chase added a double for Wells.

CAPE ELIZABETH 2, GREELY 0: Maddie Culkin hit a home run and scored twice to lead the Capers (8-2) over the Rangers (5-3) at Cape Elizabeth.

Grace Carignan gave Cape a lead in the fourth inning with an RBI single. Culkin added her solo shot in the sixth.

Jessica Robicheaw pitched a two-hitter and struck out three to earn the win.

Kelsey Currier pitched struck out five and allowed five hits for Greely.

BONNY EAGLE 4, GORHAM 3: Breanna Lifland doubled home Sarah Champagne and Melissa McDonald in the bottom of the first to put the Scots (5-4) on top for good in a win over Gorham (5-4) at Standish.

Lauryn Fagan laced a triple and Amber Randall an RBI double as Bonny Eagle extended the lead to 4-1 in the fourth.

Renee Deering scored in the fifth and Carli Labrecque in the sixth for the Rams, who took a 1-0 first-inning lead when Lindsey Wilcox scored on a sacrifice fly.

NOBLE 4, MARSHWOOD 3: Kasey Poligni’s RBI single capped a four-run first inning for Noble, and the Knights (5-4) held on to beat the Hawks (4-4) at South Berwick.

Tyler Chastney added a two-run single during the first-inning rally for Noble and Mackenzie Aleva scored on a delayed double steal.

Noble’s Shaughnessey Gower gave up two earned runs on six hits and had three strikeouts and one walk.

Emily Robida hit a pair of sacrifice flies for the Hawks and Kaylah Abdul had two hits, including a triple.

SANFORD 2, MASSABESIC 1: Megan O’Connell scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh to help the Spartans (6-2) beat the Mustangs (5-4) in Sanford.

Jen Jones struck out 12 in earning the victory.

Jordan Wilson doubled in the first inning to give Sanford a 1-0 lead. Massabesic tied it in the sixth with an RBI double from Kara Cartwright.

Grace Tutt allowed six hits and struck out three for the Mustangs.

PORTLAND 11, DEERING 5: Morgan Boyle had a two-run triple among three hits and scored three runs, and the Bulldogs (5-4) got nine runs over the final three innings to rally past the Rams (2-7) at Payson Park.

Grace Stacey added a two-run double for the Bulldogs.

Cassidy Coyne had an RBI triple and scored two runs for Deering.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 10, FREEPORT 0: Haley True hit a two-run triple and an RBI single and Alison Martell added two hits, including an RBI triple, for the Patriots (6-3), who scored seven runs over the final two innings to pull away from the Falcons (3-7) at Freeport.

Cara Waltz added three hits for the Patriots, and Amanda Thayer hit a two-run double.

YARMOUTH 7, SACOPEE VALLEY 3: Andrea St. Pierre and Cate Ralph each drove in two runs to help the Clippers (6-2) beat the Hawks (4-5) in Hiram.

St. Pierre hit a two-run double as part of a four-run third inning to give Yarmouth a 4-0 lead.

Mari Cooper got the win, allowing three earned runs on four hits while striking out eight.

MCAULEY 19, CHEVERUS 7: Chelsea Rairdon hit a two-run single to spark a nine-run first inning, helping the Lions (3-6) beat the Stags (0-9) in five innings at Portland.

Rairdon had three hits and drove in three runs, and Jill Joyce had three hits, including a solo home run in a five-run fifth for McAuley.

Lillie Donovan added two hits, including a three-run double in the fourth.

Ashley Littlefield struck out six and walked one to earn the win for McAuley.

Brooke Dawson and Isabella Santoro each drove in a run to lead the Stags.

BIDDEFORD 14, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Brook Davis hit a two-run homer during an eight-run fifth inning and finished with two hits, three RBI and two runs scored as the Tigers (7-2) downed the Trojans (6-3) in five innings at Biddeford.

Erin Martin added two hits, four runs scored and one RBI for the Tigers and Brittany Roy had three hits, two runs and an RBI.

The Tigers also got three RBI and one run scored from Jocelyn Moody.

Abby Pomerleau and Kaylee Burns scored one run apiece for the Trojans and Maizie Lee drove in one run.

TRAIP ACADEMY 9, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Jessica Segura went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Briana Lamoureux had two hits and drove in three runs to lead the Rangers (5-4) past the Seagulls (0-8) at Kittery.

Reilly Eddy struck out 12 and walked one in a one-hitter for the Rangers and Taylor Kashmer had two hits and drove in two runs.

The lone Old Orchard Beach hit was a single by Vanessa Hebert in the third.

SCARBOROUGH 18, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Abbie Murrell hit two homers and a double and drove in four runs to pace a 20-hit attack for the Red Storm (8-0) in a five-inning win over the Red Riots (1-8) at Scarborough.

Katie Verreault added a grand slam and drove in five runs for Scarborough and Lilly Volk finished with three hits, including a solo homer.

Scarborough starter Chloe Griffin struck out five and walked none in a four-hitter.

Kaitlin Bouchard had two hits for South Portland.

YORK 10, LAKE REGION 6: Alexandra Lawlor scored five goals to lead the Wildcats (3-3) over the Lakers (4-1) in York.

MacKenzie Mallett had two goals and three assists, and Martha McCaddin and Renee Abruzzese each added one goal for York, which trailed 5-4 at halftime. Julianna Kiklis stopped nine shots.

Rachel Shanks had two goals and two assists to lead Lake Region, and Lauren Jakobs had scored twice.

YARMOUTH 10, GREELY 4: Eliza Lunt scored five goals and assisted on two others for the Clippers (4-1) in a victory over Greely (2-4) at Yarmouth.

Eva Then added two goals for Yarmouth, and Mary Kate Gunville stopped nine shots for the win.

FREEPORT 11, WELLS 8: Aimely Michaud-Nolan scored four goals to lift the Falcons (2-3) to a win over the Warriors (1-3) at Wells.

Meg Schneider and Alyssa Loukola added two goals apiece for Freeport, which built an 11-3 lead.

Lindsay Cartmell had three goals for Freeport.

WAYNFLETE 15, FRYEBURG 2: Five Flyers scored two goals apiece to help Waynflete (4-2) beat the Raiders (1-6) at Portland.

Izzy Burdick had two goals and three assists, and Elisabeth Lualdi, Elspeth Olney, Laura Baginski and Christian Rowe each had two goals and one assist for the Flyers.

KENNEBUNK 14, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: Jenny Bush scored six goals to lead the Rams (5-0) over the Capers (1-6) in Kennebunk.

Kyra Schwartzman added three goals and one assist, and Hallie Schwartzman had two goals and two assists for Kennebunk.

Isabella Kudas stopped eight shots for the Rams.

Caroline Coburn and Susannah Graham scored for Cape Elizabeth.

MT. ARARAT 10, BRUNSWICK 2: Erin Tome scored five goals to lead the Eagles (2-3) to a win over the Dragons (1-4) at Brunswick.

Ronni Pelletier added two goals and Emily Welch, Isa Blessington and Shannon Harty each scored one for Mt. Ararat.

Brunswick got one goal apiece from Jenna Brooks and Sarah Ferdinand.
