SOUTH HIRAM — Roderick Maynard pitched a three-hit shutout Friday as Sacopee Valley atoned for its only loss, defeating Old Orchard Beach 6-0 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Maynard struck out 13 with no walks for the Hawks (10-1) against the Seagulls (6-4).

Dana Shea had two hits and two runs, including an RBI double in the fifth, and Brandon Burnell scored twice and drove in a run for Sacopee.

KENNEBUNK 6, POLAND 3: Zander Kosmala, Bryan Hickey and Justin Wiggins hit RBI singles during a three-run third inning that broke a 2-2 tie, and the Rams (5-5) held off the Knights (2-9) at Kennebunk.

Wiggins and Kosmala finished with two hits apiece.

Evan Gallagher had a pair of RBI singles for Poland.

YORK 1, YARMOUTH 0: Trevor LaBonte drove in Sam Johnson with a fielder’s choice in the sixth inning as the Wildcats (9-2) edged the Clippers (6-2-1) at Yarmouth.

Johnson, who led off the sixth with a single, had two hits, as did Chris Neilson for York. Malcolm Hughes allowed seven hits with no walks, striking out four.

Andrew Kinsman of Yarmouth allowed no walks and five hits, with two strikeouts. Conor O’Donnell and Chris Romano each had two hits for the Clippers.

FALMOUTH 9, WELLS 3: Colin Coyne hit a two-run double in the first inning and the Yachtsmen (10-0) allowed three hits against the Warriors (5-4) at Falmouth.

After Michael Wrigley hit a three-run double in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 4-3, Falmouth answered in the bottom of the inning when Connor Aube led off with a home run and Jesse Melchiskey drove in two runs on a squeeze bunt.

Robbie Armitage of Falmouth pitched four innings, allowing one hit, striking out six and walking four.

BIDDEFORD 5, SANFORD 4: Curtis Petit singled in Logan Magnant to spark a three-run third inning as the Tigers (2-7) built a 5-1 lead against the Spartans (2-8) at Biddeford.

Sanford rallied with two runs in the fourth: Keith Kerrigan hit an RBI double and later scored on a fielder’s choice by Tye Laviolette. The Spartans picked up another run in the sixth.

Brady Crepeau and Jason Vadnais had two hits apiece, and Nick Gallant allowed eight hits and a walk, striking out three in five innings for Biddeford.

Xavier Chase had two hits, including a double, and Kerrigan added two hits, an RBI and a run for Sanford.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 10, BOOTHBAY 0: Chandler Harris had a double, two singles and an RBI to spark the Mustangs (10-0) over the Seahawks (1-8) at Monmouth.

RICHMOND SWEEPS VINALHAVEN: Brendan Emmons earned a win in relief and also homered to help the Bobcats (4-4) sweep Vinalhaven (4-4) at Richmond.

The scores were 15-1 and 20-6.

Tristan Shea had two doubles, and Matt Rines added a double and a triple for the Bobcats.

In the opener, Tyler Soucy struck out 12 for the win. Curtis Anderson drove in two runs for the Bobcats.

OCEANSIDE 11, MT. VIEW 7: Thomas Curtis and Michael Norton Jr. each had a single and a double and drove in three runs as the Mariners (9-1) defeated the Mustangs (0-9) at Thomaston.

The Mustangs took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Logan Curtis and Riley Boulay. The Mariners tied it in the bottom of the inning on a two-run double by Thomas Curtis.

Norton put Oceanside ahead 3-2 in the second with an RBI single, and he added a two-run single in the third that put Oceanside ahead 8-3.

Colby Furrow had four hits for the Mustangs.

Jake Bartlett of Oceanside pitched six innings, giving up three earned runs, allowing nine hits and striking out seven.

OXFORD HILLS 1, MESSALONSKEE 0: Blake Slicer pitched a perfect game as the Vikings (7-3) downed Messalonskee (5-4) at South Paris.

The Vikings had six hits.

LACROSSE

GORHAM 13, WAYNFLETE 9: Alex York had three goals and five assists as the Rams (7-1) defeated the Flyers (4-3) at Gorham.

Tristan Brunet scored three goals, Cameron Wright added two goals and three assists, and Carter Landry had 13 saves for Gorham.

MESSALONSKEE 13, WESTBROOK 9: Connor Smith had three goals and three assists to lead Messalonskee (5-2) over the Blue Blazes (4-3) at Westbrook.

Will Weeks, Dylan Jones and Austin Pelletier also notched three goals apiece for Messalonskee. Dawson Charles made seven saves in goal.

Ryan Shackley, Noah Oliver and Curtis Knapton scored two goals each for Westbrook.
