Most thought that the recent Maine Democratic Convention was a great success and are in celebration mode. Me, I’m not so sure.

The amendment process was cut short by the leadership. One passed, making superdelegates vote like the voters starting in 2020. But 16 others never had time to be heard.

Bernie Sanders dominated this year’s caucuses, and many new and returning Democratic voters came in. They’re the future of the party and the country. But not everyone mouthing his causes is truly devoted to his goals.

Laurie Dobson is running for state representative in District 9 (part of Biddeford, part of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport). With long experience in politics and activism in important causes, she’s one whose commitment is genuine.

Her No. 1 cause is what Bernie calls “political revolution” – that is, standing up to the imitations. I encourage supporting her in the June 14 primary.
