Two men suspected in a stabbing in Brunswick on Sunday were arrested Wednesday.

Robert McKenney, 43, was arrested on Pleasant Street in Brunswick without incident Wednesday morning and charged with elevated aggravated assault, robbery, aggravated criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

Wendall Casler, 38, of Oak Street in Brunswick, was arrested Wednesday by Portland police. He faces the same charges as McKenney. Brunswick police said they received information about Casler’s location and contacted the Portland Police Department, which took him into custody.

McKenney and Caslerwere being sought in connection with a stabbing Sunday afternoon of a 39-year-old man from Cleveland, Ohio. The victim and a witness were uncooperative with the police investigation. Police said the stabbing was a targeted assault and not a random act.

Police did not identify the stabbing victim and said he has been reluctant to volunteer information, including why he was in Maine. He was found by police in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at Pleasant and Maine streets around 2 p.m., but police determined the assault took place elsewhere. The victim received treatment at Maine Medical Center in Portland for wounds to his chest and arm.

Bail for McKenney has been set at $50,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court on July 19.

Casler was taken to Cumberland County Jail in Portland.
