The National Day of Prayer and locally, Maine Day of Prayer, was held May 5. Members of Maine’s Legislature assembled in Augusta with members of the public to praise God and to pray in turn for all 16 counties of Maine. A very good thing! Meanwhile, day and night on the 5th, there were similar events planned throughout Maine. Locally, Windham Assembly of God hosted a Prayer Day event that was well attended and focused on praying for community leaders of all kinds.
These events were due in great part to the local energies of James and Donna Glaser of Raymond, Maine coordinators for the National Day of Prayer. Their leadership and energies allowed many in Maine to gather on May 5 in prayer, but they also work throughout the year to encourage and support prayer. They have created a website called Pray Maine at http://www.praymaine.org/. Visiting the site you can both learn where people are gathering statewide to pray as well as list your prayer event. Check it out, and many thanks to James and Donna.
