McAuley senior Sarah Schnupp, joined by her coach, Don Leonard, and family members, signs her National Letter of Intent Wednesday afternoon to attend and compete on the rifle team at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
“It’s so exciting to have the support of the community here at McAuley,” said Schnupp, who also swam for the Lions. “I was accepted to five schools, four of which had rifle teams. University of the Sciences offered my major, occupational therapy, and there’s a doctoral program I was accepted to. I started shooting in the seventh grade. When I started, my goal was to go as far as I could go in this sport.”

Leonard said that he expects Schnupp to do well at the next level.

“Sarah’s been with me for three years and she can blank out everything that’s happening around her,” Leonard said. “Her courage, strength and confidence set her apart. She puts all of her effort into each individual shot.”
