Run in a Race, the race-timing company owned and operated by Freeport High School Cross Country and Indoor Track head coach Brian Berkemeyer, is holding another series of trail races at Pownal Road Field this year.
The series began on May 18, and will run every Wednesday through June 29. Registration is a one-time $20 fee, and can be done online at runinarace.com, or from 5-5:45 p.m. each race day. Races start at 6 p.m., and various sponsors – including Derosier’s Pizza and Maine Craft Distilling – will be providing prizes. The series is intended as a “low-key, friendly, weekly training event,” according to Berkemeyer; more than 40 runners participated on May 18 – better than double the turnout for 2015’s first week.
