I urge North Yarmouth residents to work for a better, long-range and perhaps a less-expensive solution to our Town Center plan. We need to consider all the options. We need to cast off the restraints of the referendum vote last year and support a forward-thinking plan.

Keeping the North Yarmouth Memorial School site for present and future use could include addressing the Town Hall’s capacity to accommodate current and future functional and accessibility needs; save invaluable additional land around the new Town Hall, at the North Yarmouth Middle School site, for the future; re-build the Wescustogo Grange for the town’s future use, and continue use of the NYMS gym for community functions.

I believe this long-term focus could be less expensive than the current proposal from the Board of Selectmen. I urge my neighbors to vote no on Question 2.
