“Whose woods these are I do not know … .”
What I do know is that I first came to Portland, by way of Baxter Woods, nearly 20 years ago as the Dorothy M. Healy Visiting Professor across the street. Having entered Portland with that Westbrook College academic appointment in my 60s, I am counting on going out from an affordable apartment in the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse.
What continues, however, to stand in the way of this project (and my future) is a profound distrust, both in the wisdom of the sisters and the earned reputation of Seacoast Management in the design, building and environment of senior housing in our area.
I pray the project will be completed in time for me.
