Police in Oxford who responded Tuesday to a report of a man barricaded in his home found that he had fatally shot himself, police said.
Officers responded to 156 Hebron Road in Oxford about 5:30 p.m. for a domestic incident involving Daniel Pulkkinen, 41, and his wife, said Oxford Police Chief John Tibbetts.
Pulkkinen was believed to have barricaded himself in a rear bedroom.
Police waited outside until 2:30 a.m. when they entered the mobile home. Inside, Pulkkinen was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound, and Tibbetts said investigators believe he was dead before the first police officers even arrived.
Tibbetts said police had responded to the residence six or seven times for domestic incidents in the past eight months.
