Garden club meeting

Water preservation will be the topic at the next meeting of the Grandiflora Garden Club at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Standish Municipal Building, Sebago Lake Room. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month.

Library news

The Book Group will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 18, to discuss “Glory over Everything” by Kathleen Grissom. The summer reading program is held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesdays. The Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market is held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Auditions for “Clue the Musical”

Schoolhouse Arts Center will hold auditions for “Clue the Musical” from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 17,  and Tuedsay, July 19. Those interested should bring sheet music and be prepared to sing 16 bars of a Broadway-type song along with a quick range check. An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning should also be prepared to read a short monologue which will be available for each character. Auditions will include a reading for you top choice only. Rehearsals generally will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. and Sundays from 2-5 p.m. The musical, directed by Jocelyn French, will be performed  Sept. 16 -Oct. 2. The raised beds at Steep Falls Library are planted and growing well. Before you know it, the library will be harvesting for its summer reading program, senior social and other projects. The library sends out a big thanks to everyone who participated.
