MANCHESTER, N.H. — Taylor Cole allowed one run over eight innings Wednesday night to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 6-1 victory against the Portland Sea Dogs at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

New Hampshire (39-47) took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Derrick Loveless. The Fisher Cats extended the lead to 3-0 in the second on an RBI double by Jorge Flores and a run-scoring single by Christian Lopes.

Portland (30-55) managed four hits, scoring on a two-out home run in the fourth inning by Cody Decker that cut the lead to 3-1. The homer was Decker’s fourth of the season. The Sea Dogs’ only other extra-base hit was a double by Danny Bethea in the third.

Cole (1-2) pitched eight innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and no walks, striking out eight.

Kevin McAvoy (5-4) recorded the loss, allowing five earned runs over six innings.

NOTES: Portland outfielder Aneury Tavarez was named to the Eastern League All-Star roster. The game will be played July 13 in Akron, Ohio.
