LISBON — Every year, Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union awards four $1,000 scholarships to local high school graduates, based on academic achievements as well as community involvement.

This year’s scholarship awards went to Breeann Sautter and Cody Campbell of Lisbon High School, Jacob Bussiere of St. Doms, and Avery Gagnon of Lewiston High School. All of the seniors have chosen to continue their education in Maine schools.

Sautter plans to study psychology at St. Joseph’s College in Standish and eventually hopes to open her own practice in clinical or counseling psychology.

Campbell will be attending the University of Maine at Farmington and plans to major in secondary education. His goal is to “inspire students with education and change the youth of America.”

Bussiere has been accepted at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine and plans to major in marine engineering technology. He hopes to become a ship engineer.

Gagnon will be studying animal and veterinarian sciences at the University of Maine at Orono.

The Lisbon credit union developed the Rochel “Russ” Livernois Scholarship Fund in 2000 to help local graduating seniors realize their dreams. Livernois served as treasurer/manager from the credit union’s beginning in 1959 through 1985.
