FAMILIES are invited to a day of play at Schulten Farm in Woolwich on Saturday with KELT.

WOOLWICH

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust invites children and families to the KELT Kids Day of Play on Saturday, July 9 at 1 p.m. for an afternoon of outdoor fun. Join local naturalists and volunteers to design and fly kites, learn and practice geocaching, and explore ponds, fields, and forests of Schulten Farm in Woolwich. Landowners Mike and Betsy Fear are hosting this event for KELT Kids, the Land Trust’s free membership program for children under 12.

Come ready for kite flying; KELT will provide kite-making supplies.

Schulten Farm is located just off the northern shoreline of Nequasset Lake,

KELT’s Maine Conservation Corps Environmental Steward Charlotte Thompson will show off invertebrate organisms that the farm’s pond.

Families can also search for geocaches around the farm. There will be several GPS units available for kids to use.

KELT Kids Day of Play is free, and in case of rain, the event will be postponed until July 16. Registration is required and can be completed at kennebecestuary.org/day-of-play or with Becky Kolak at (207) 442-8400.
