A Unity woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash in Knox Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Shannon Kennedy, 30, was killed when her car collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by Charles Fitzpatrick, 63, of Troy, according to a news release from Steve McCausland, spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety and Maine State Police.

Fitzpatrick was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
State police said that Kennedy’s car crossed into the oncoming lane on Route 137 and collided with Fitzgerald’s truck at about 3:30 p.m. near Hilltop Store. Kennedy’s car crossed the centerline on a slight curve, police said.
McCausland said the accident is under investigation.
