Common Ground Band in concert

Gorham’s free, outdoor summer concert series continues with the Common Ground Band, from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, on the lawn at the gazebo next to Baxter Memorial Library on South Street.

Gorham Recreation Department sponsors the concert series that continues through Aug. 16.

Parking is available along South Street or in the parking lot behind Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St.. Those attending can take picnics, along with blankets or lawn chairs.

Free kids’ music class

North Gorham Public Library, 2 Standish Neck Road, is hosting a kids’ music class for ages 1-4, from 10:45-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16.

Jamie Swenson of Sing, Dance and Play will lead the little ones. No registration is required and the class will be outside, if  the weather permits.

“Come prepared to sing, dance and try out some instruments,” a release said.

Lions car show set

The Gorham Lions Club welcome car owners and spectators to gather on Sunday, July 31, in the parking lot at Gorham High School, 41 Morrill Ave. for the club’s annual car show.

First-, second- and third-prize trophies will be offered in 21 categories.

Ken Aldrich, Lions Club spokesman, said in an announcement the gates will open at 6:30 a.m. for the car and truck owners, and no admission will be charged to the spectators, but donations to local Gorham Lions charities are appreciated.

Boy Scout Troop 73 will provide refreshments and will assist the Lions.

“A number of local business sponsors underwrite this fun activity, and will be acknowledged at the event,” Aldrich said.
