The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in New Gloucester will participate in Open Farm Day, a statewide event celebrating agriculture and farming, on Sunday, July 24, from noon-4:30 p.m.
Visitors to Shaker Village will have the opportunity to see Scottish highland cattle, sheep, bees, apple orchards and herb and vegetable gardens. The event also will feature guided tours of the 1830 barns, tractor-drawn wagon rides and demonstrations of traditional crafts, including woodcarving, blacksmithing and yarn spinning.
