Kennebunk police are asking the public’s help to identify a woman who attempted to get a 13-year-old boy into her car, telling him she wanted to give him a ride to the beach.
The incident occurred Tuesday about 5 p.m. on Commons Lane.
The woman approached the boy and asked if he was going to the beach to meet his friends, and asked if he needed a ride.
When the boy declined, the woman said it was safe for him to ride with her, and said that his friends were probably waiting for him.
The woman is described as in her 40s or 50s with black hair. The boy said she was driving a black compact car.
