FALMOUTH — Paving of U.S. Route 1 between the Martin’s Point Bridge and Route 88 is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 5.
Final paving will begin Monday, Aug. 1, with work planned between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., according to a town press release. Motorists should expect delays of up to five minutes in each direction.
The Maine Department of Transportation and the Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation System were partners with the town for the project, which began in early May and included construction of median islands on Route 1 and reconfiguration of the Route 88 intersection.
