A boat captain from Porter was arrested in Boston on Sunday for allegedly threatening a Brunswick man with a machete.
Boston police said Stephen Thuotte, 54, held a machete against the neck of the other man at the Boston Fish Pier, according to Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Tom Ryan.
The victim, who has not been identified, declined medical attention.
Thuotte was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon against someone age 60 or older, a felony under Massachusetts law with a maximum punishment of five years in state prison.
He is expected to be arraigned Monday at South Boston District Court.
The fishing vessel, the Lydia & Maya, lists Boston as its port of call, and is owned by a Scarborough company, Lydia & Maya Inc. Someone who answered the phone at an address listed for the company in Scarborough declined to comment.
Thuotte has a minor criminal record in Maine, according to the state Bureau of Identification, which listed misdemeanor charges between 1998 and 2003, including assault, carrying a concealed weapon and refusing to submit to arrest, among other charges.
