The Scarborough Little League 11-12 team topped Biddeford 14-0 in Orrington on Friday, July 29, to capture the State title.

The players are: Sam Clark, Thomas Donahue, Nic Frink, Ryan Gambardella, Ryan Kelly, TJ Liponis, Reilly Martin, Peter O’Brien, Nate Robinson, Sam Rumelhart, Ben Seguin, Jack Simonton, Cade Sullivan and Joe Townsend.

Corey Frink is the manager and Pat Donahue, Dave Sullivan, Brian Seguin and Jim Liponis are the coaches.

The team is slated to face off with Vermont in the Regional tournament in Bristol, Conn., at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help defray expenses: https://www.gofundme.com/MainetoBristol.

Meanwhile, the Scarborough 9-10 team also won their State tournament, upending Saco 9-6 in Westbrook within an hour of the 11-12 squad’s win.
