Nomination papers for South Portland’s municipal election will be available from the City Clerk’s Office beginning Thursday, Aug. 4. There are two seats available on the City Council and two seats on the Board of Education.
Candidates running for City Council or school board need the signatures of 100 registered voters. It’s recommended that candidates for office turn in between 130 and 150 signatures to ensure their nomination. Nomination papers must be returned by Monday, Sept. 12.
