Maine electric ratepayers should be angry and disappointed at the recent decision by the Maine Public Utilities Commission to help pay for the natural gas expansion in New England. The PUC does not appear to represent Maine people when such a bad plan is made to transfer the bill to electric consumers for increasing natural gas capacity.

Who benefits most will be other New England states and private investors. I understand Gov. LePage will first need to approve the PUC decision, and I do hope our governor will not endorse or sign on to such a poorly conceived plan, especially when it has been reported that electric consumers in Maine already pay the highest rates in New England.
