Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire Tuesday night at a house in Rockland.

An emergency dispatcher for Knox County said the fire started in a private residence at 28 James St. The fire was reported around 9 p.m. The dispatcher said he did not know if the fire caused any injuries.

The dispatcher said firefighters brought the fire under control by about 10:15 p.m.
