SANFORD — Mary Adams scored two goals Wednesday night to lead Gorham to a 5-1 victory against Sanford in an SMAA field hockey game.

Erin Esty of Gorham (2-0-1) had the only goal of the first half.

Marie Walton and Grace McGouldrick also scored for the Rams. Marissa Nance countered for Sanford (1-2).

Lydia McCrillis stopped 15 shots for Gorham. Jordan Benvie made 11 saves for the Spartans.

CHEVERUS 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Sophia Pompeo scored twice to lead the Stags (3-0) past the Red Riots (0-3) at South Portland.

After Isabella Booth scored 48 seconds into the game for Cheverus, Lydia Henderson tied it heading into halftime.

Pompeo and Caroline Ford scored early in the second half for Cheverus, and Pompeo’s second goal of the game came with one second remaining.

Maddie Dolet of the Red Riots recorded 11 saves. Kat Kane of Cheverus had three.

SCARBOROUGH 12, DEERING 0: Lucy Malia, Christine Levesque and Liz Callahan each scored a pair of goals as the Red Storm (1-2) built a 6-0 halftime lead and cruised by the Rams (0-3) at Scarborough.

Scarborough received goals from nine players.

Lillian Frager stopped 11 shots for Deering. Sam Carriero had one for the Red Storm.

MARSHWOOD 7, PORTLAND 0: Leah Gidden had three goals as the Hawks (3-0) handled the Bulldogs (1-2) at Portland.

Hannah Costin added two goals and two assists, and Melanie Dube and Elaine Lawrence also scored.

Madeline Pettengill stopped 12 shots for Portland. Sarah Arenberg had six saves for the Hawks.

MASSABESIC 9, NOBLE 0: Logan Champlin and Emma Rutledge each had a pair of goals, both scoring once on a penalty stroke, as the Mustangs (3-0) cruised past the Knights (0-3) at North Berwick.

Jacklyn Bearse added two goals, and Emma Derochers, Kaylee St. Laurent and Sophia Lafrance also scored.

Mia Colantuoni stopped 31 shots for Noble.

GARDINER 2, MT. VIEW 1: Callie Brann scored with 3:04 left as the Tigers (3-0) edged the Mustangs (0-3) at Thorndike.

Hailee Lovely gave Gardiner the lead with an unassisted goal with 20:44 to play before Mt. View countered three minutes later when Rachelle Ravin scored off a corner shot by Reanna Boulay.

Alexis Bowman stopped 18 shots for the Tigers.

BOOTHBAY REGION 3, LISBON 2: Riley Sullivan scored on a cross from Nicole Clarke with 23 seconds remaining as the Seahawks (2-0) edged the Greyhounds (1-1) at Boothbay Harbor.

Chase Collier scored from Mallory Fairbanks five minutes into the game to give Lisbon a 1-0 halftime lead.

Kayla Lewis tied it 30 seconds into the second half from Sydney Meader before Meader gave the Seahawks the lead about 13 minutes later unassisted.

Savannah Czechalski tied it with about 22 minutes to play for the Greyhounds.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 10, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 4: Caleb Lacroix scored seven goals as the Guardians (1-0) defeated the Lions (0-2) at South Berwick.

Ethan Bowker added a pair of goals and Skyler Archer also scored for Seacoast Christian.

Ethan Spaulding had four goals and Jeremiah Hammon added two assists for Greater Portland Christian.

Mason Jones stopped 18 shots for the Lions.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, WESTBROOK 0: Hannah Niles scored twice and added an assist to lead the Golden Trojans (2-0) over the Blue Blazes (0-2) at Saco.

Niles broke a scoreless tie with two goals in a three-minute span of the second half. Natalia Profenno then scored with 16 minutes remaining from Niles. Abbi Cook of Thornton recorded two saves.

Nyagoa Bayak stopped 12 shots for Westbrook.

GORHAM 10, BIDDEFORD 1: Tiril Wiig scored twice for the Rams (2-0), who received goals from nine players and handled the Tigers (0-2) at Gorham.

Jenna Cowan and Brooke Greatorex added a goal and an assist for Gorham.

Serena Speight scored for Biddeford.

Abby O’Connor stopped 20 shots for the Tigers. Emma Smith had a pair of saves for the Rams.

NOBLE 1, PORTLAND 1: Each team scored once in the first half as the Bulldogs (1-0-1) and the Knights (0-1-1) tied at North Berwick.

Noble took a 1-0 lead on Morgan Griffin’s goal after 12 minutes. The Bulldogs tied it with 12 minutes remaining in the half on Kate Johnson’s goal.

Reagan Kelly recorded eight saves for Noble. Taylor Crosby of Portland stopped 12 shots.

CHEVERUS 3, MARSHWOOD 1: Emma Gallant scored twice in the first half to lead the Stags (1-1) over the Hawks (1-1) at Portland.

After Marshwood took a 1-0 lead on Hannah Fife’s goal in the sixth minute, the Stags rebounded on Gallant’s goals in the 11th and 23rd minutes. Lauren Jordan of Cheverus then scored in the 76th minute from Abby Cavallaro.

Katie Boynton of Cheverus recorded nine saves. Natalie Clavette stopped eight shots for the Hawks.

WINDHAM 8, MASSABESIC 0: Lyndsey Arsenault and Meghan Hoffses each scored twice to lead the Eagles (2-0) past the Mustangs (0-2) iat Waterboro.

The Eagles went into halftime with a 5-0 lead as Maggie Symonds had one goal and two assists in the first half.
