Alex Strozier tallied a hat trick as the Wiscasset High School boys soccer team broke into the win column with a 10-0 Mountain Valley Conference victory over Dirigo on Thursday.

Ethan James and Brandon Goud chipped in two goals each for the Wolverines (1-1), while Nate Woodman, Conlon Ranta and Aiden Carlson had a goal apiece.

The Dragons and Eagles played to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference tie at Oakland.

Trailing 1-0, Brunswick’s Sagar Dahal blasted a shot into the cage to tie the game late in the first half.

Dragon goaltender Josh Dorr made 16 saves to keep the contest square, while Messalonskee netminder Chase Warren turned away 13 Brunswick (0-1-2) shots.

Playing well for Brunswick was midfielder Emmet Taub and defenseman Max Grammins.

The Dragons visit Mt. Ararat Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Girls

LISBON — Kaylin Le and Kiley Merritt scored one goal each as Lisbon hustled to a 2-0 MVC win over Boothbay (1-2).

The Greyhounds (2-0-1) struck for both goals in the first half, with Alika McMurrin assisting on Le’s goal and a Sydney Douglass flip throw setting up Merritt’s tally.

Lisbon netminder Ali Sult had five saves as the Greyhounds outshot the Seahawks, 16-5.

The Greyhounds host Dirigo Saturday at 10 a.m.

BRUNSWICK 5

Five players scored one goal as the host Dragons (2- 1) pulled away for a KVAC win over the Eagles.

Isabella Banks, Anna Kousky, Kira Wolpow, Maeve Arthur and Lea Scrapchansky picked up goals for Brunswick, while Wolpow assisted on two and Scrapchansky one.

Brunswick, which hosts Mt. Ararat on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., held a 12-6 shot advantage.

In goal, Messalonskee netminder Olivia Roy had six saves, with Beth Labbe turning aside four shots for the Dragons.

DIRIGO 2

Gabby Chapman scored four goals to pace the Wolverines in MVC play at Dixfield.

Wiscasset, 2-1, and slated to visit Hall-Dale on Saturday at 2 p.m., improved to 2- 1, while the Cougars fell to 1- 2.

Brooke Carleton (assisted by Natalie Potter) and Grace Webber added a goal each in the win. In goal, Lindsey Gordon had six saves for Wiscasset.

Volleyball

PORTLAND — The Brunswick girls fell to 0-3 with a three-set loss to Portland.

The Bulldogs won by set scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25- 9.

Katharine Kunhardt had three assists, two kills and one service ace for the Dragons, who host Greely on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Field Hockey

TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat had its hands full with visiting Messalonskee, falling 6-0 in a KVAC game.

Eagles goaltender Haley Frizzle shined, saving 21 shots, including a penalty stroke. Hannah Pinney notched three saves for Messalonskee.

Mt. Ararat moved to 1-3 with the setback and will host Edward little Saturday at 11 a.m.

MORSE 0
GARDINER 6

Hailee Lovely had a four-point game to lift the undefeated Tigers (4-0) to a KVAC win over Morse, which fell to 1-3 and visits Erskine Academy Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Shipbuilders put together a strong first half, trailing just 1-0 at the break.

Morse goaltender Sophie Wilson had six saves and the Shipbuilder defense stopped 16 Gardiner penalty corners. Zenaide McCarthy played well in the midfield for Morse.
