LEWISTON — Drew Parsons and Luke McNabb scored less than a minute apart early in the second half as the Bates men’s soccer team rallied past Newbury for a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Newbury (4-1-1) opened the scoring with one second remaining in the first half. Parsons scored the equalizer off an assist from Eric Opoku 7:05 into the second half and McNabb added the go-ahead goal 34 seconds later.

Robbie Montanaro made four saves for the Bobcats, who outshot Newbury 27-13.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 0, CCRI 0: Patrick Duddy finished with nine saves for the Seawolves (2-0-1) as they played to a scoreless draw against the Knights (0-3-2) at South Portland.

Christian Ellerbe and Jordan Lopez combined to make 10 saves for the Knights.

SOUTHERN MAINE 1, MANHATTANVILLE 0: Tayla Smedberg redirected a tipped ball from Samantha Crosman out of the air and past the keeper in the 66th minute to lift the Huskies (3-2) to a win over the Valiants (2-2) in Gorham.

Amanda Kasbohm finished with five saves for the Huskies.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

RHODE ISLAND 2, MAINE 0: Taylor Ross scored a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes of the second half as the Rams (2-3-2) pulled away from the Black Bears (4-3) for a win at Kingston, Rhode Island.

Annalena Kriebisch finished with eight saves for the Black Bears, who were outshot 20-4.

BATES 8, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Riley Turcotte scored a pair of goals and Hannah Graves added a goal and two assists for the Bobcats (2-1) as they scored five second-half goals to beat the Huskies (2-2) at Lewiston.

Sarah DiPillo and Ana Urbina chipped in a goal and an assist apiece for the Bobcats, while Hannah Behringer, Oliva Amdur and Brigid Quinn each had a goal.

COLBY 1, HUSSON 0: Laura Arnold scored with 1:45 left in the second overtime period to lift the Mules (1-1) to a win over the Eagles (1-3) at Bangor.

Sam Rizzo made seven saves for the Mules and Husson’s Kayla Gordon finished with eight saves.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 6, CENTRAL MAINE CC 2: Hannah Fields and Madelyn Wade scored two goals apiece for the Seawolves (3-1, 1-1) as they scored five goals during a seven minute stretch late in the second half to break open a 1-1 tie against the Mustangs (0-5, 0-2) in a Yankee Small College Conference game at South Portland.

Fields also collected a pair of assists for the Seawolves and Samantha Munson and Madison Simms scored one goal apiece.

Megan Duval scored both goals for the Mustangs.
