Massachusetts authorities have released the identities of a New Hampshire man who was killed and two Mainers who were injured in a speedboat racing accident Saturday at a Taunton pond.

Killed in the incident was 39-year-old Mark Green of Moultonborough, New Hampshire, NECN, the New England Cable News network, reported.

Stephen Joy, 67, of Bangor was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition following the accident on Watson Pond, the site of the Bill Giles Memorial Regatta, according NECN.

A second man from Maine, Alex Poliakoff, 72, of Richmond, suffered minor injuries.

The crash occurred as the three boats were traveling about 65 mph across the water during a race early Saturday afternoon. The operator of the first boat lost control and spun and caused a pileup.

All three men were ejected from the boats, and Green was pronounced dead at the scene, NECN reported.
