BRUNSWICK — Curtis Memorial Library will host a panel discussion at 7 p.m. on Sept. 28 on how to mitigate the local infestation of browntail moth caterpillars.

Panelists Charlene Donahue from the Maine Forest Service, arborist Jeff Gillis of WellTree Inc., and Aaron Koch of Mid Coast Hospital will provide an overview of the of the invasive browntail population, which has aggressively caused problems for trees and allergic citizens this summer.

The panel will raise awareness of the issue and explain ways that residents can take precautionary steps to protect infested areas and themselves. They will also take questions from the audience.

The program is free and will take place in the library’s Morrell Meeting Room.
