SACO — Eric McCallum and Alvaro Saenz de Santa Maria scored first-half goals and that was enough to give Thornton Academy a 2-0 victory over Cheverus in a Class A South boys’ soccer game on Thursday.

McCallum scored off a corner kick to open the scoring. Saenz de Santa Maria’s goal was assisted by Noah Niles.

Colin Daly stopped three shots in the shutout as the Golden Trojans remained unbeaten (7-0-1).

Harrison Bell made four saves for the Stags (3-4).

SCARBOROUGH 9, BIDDEFORD 1: Garrett King scored two goals and Noah Stracqualursi had one goal and two assists for the Red Storm (4-2) as they cruised past the Tigers (0-6) at Scarborough.

Scarborough also got one goal apiece from Justin Perry, Marc Guerette, Spencer Pettingill, Jarred Greenleaf, Brandon Wasser and Cam Smith.

Cody Saucier scored Biddeford’s goal.

YARMOUTH 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Henry Coolidge scored off a pass from Eric Loomis three minutes into the game and the Clippers (4-1) cruised to a win over the Rams (4-3-1) in Yarmouth.

Eric LaBrie extended the lead with eight minutes left in the first half.

Jack Jones set up Gibson Harnett in the 76th minute to complete the scoring.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4, FREEPORT 0: Nabile Ghadfa had two first-half goals to help the Raiders (3-4) beat the Falcons (3-3) at Fryeburg.

Ghadfa scored off a cross from Nicolas Bishton midway through the half, then scored on a penalty kick five minutes later.

Bishton scored unassisted later in the first, and Owen Sullivan completed the scoring with a goal off a pass from Max Kummer early in the second half.

NYA 1, WAYNFLETE 0: Xander Bartone headed in a free kick from Jeremy Thelven in the fifth minute to lift the Panthers (3-3) to a win over the Flyers (3-2-1) at Portland.

Connor Clock finished with seven saves to record the shutout for North Yarmouth Academy, which held on despite being outshot 17-7.

Waynflete keeper Luca Antolini made four saves.

MARSHWOOD 4, MASSABESIC 1: The Hawks (4-2) got goals from four players as they defeated the Mustangs (0-5) in South Berwick.

Hawks goals were scored by Lyle Carlson, Max Berman, Turner Goodenough and Henry Honkonen.

Noah Perry scored for Massabesic.

Sam Leathe recorded two saves for Marshwood.

NOBLE 1, WINDHAM 0: Duncan McGilvery scored on a one-timer off a throw-in one minute into the second half, and the Knights (2-4) held on to beat the Eagles (1-6) in North Berwick.

Noah Safford stopped eight shots, including a penalty kick late in the second half.

Alex Wilkins made nine saves for Windham.

SANFORD 3, BONNY EAGLE 2: Ryan McLeod headed in a cross from William Yath late in the second half to give the Spartans (2-4-1) a 3-1 lead, and they held on to edge the Scots (1-5) at Sanford.

Patrick Morris had a goal and an assist for Sanford, and Cole Randt also scored. Ryan Moody scored both Bonny Eagle goals.

GIRLS

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 4, ST. DOMINIC 0: Maegan Halle had two goals and two assists to lead the Seagulls (1-5-1) to a win over the Saints (1-5) at Old Orchard Beach.

Payje Leclerc and Brianna Plante each added a goal and Sammy Donnell and Joyce Doucette had assists for the Seagulls.

Old Orchard Beach keeper Tiffany Leclair made three saves to record the shutout. Abby Castonguay had five saves for the Saints.

WAYNFLETE 2, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Amelia Bertaska in overtime to lift the Flyers (4-2) over the Raiders (3-4) at Portland.

Kalie Eastman gave Fryeburg a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game. Ava Farrar tied it up three minutes into the second half.
