BATH (AP) — The Maine man who was behind the wheel of the Jeep involved in a fatal Halloween-themed hayride crash two years ago in Mechanic Falls is set to go on trial in Bath.

The Kennebec Journal reports the trial of David Brown on reckless conduct charges will begin Thursday morning in Sagadahoc County Superior Court.

A grand jury also indicted Harvest Hill Farms, where the accident occurred, and a mechanic in the case. All have pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say the accident occurred in October 2014 when Brown lost control of the Jeep, struck a tree and the vehicle overturned.

Twenty-two passengers were hospitalized following the incident. Seventeen-yearold Cassidy Charette was fatally injured in the crash.

James Andrews, Androscoggin County’s deputy district attorney, declined to comment Wednesday.
