1072343_139000 mday.jpgMadison Day, Sacopee Valley soccer: Day had two shutouts this past week for the 4-0-1 Hawks. The goalkeeper has only allowed two goals in five games. Day made seven saves in Sacopee Valley’s 2-0 win over Waynflete on Sept. 15 and four saves in a 0-0 tie with Old Orchard Beach on Tuesday.

HONORABLE MENTION

Kacey Foerster, Scarborough volleyball: The senior outside hitter lifted the Red Storm to their fifth-straight win Tuesday in a tightly contested match that went to four games. Foerster had eight kills, including four in the second game when she helped give Scarborough a 2-0 advantage in the match.

Emily Martin, Morse soccer: Martin broke a scoreless tie late in the first half in a 3-0 win over Leavitt on Tuesday. Martin also led Morse (5-1) with four goals in a 7-0 win over Belfast (0-6) on Sept. 15.

Mia Stamey, Westbrook cross country: The sophomore placed 14th in a four-school meet on Sept. 15 at Smiling Hill Farm and sixth on her team, finishing ahead of the Scarborough, Cheverus and Sanford No. 5 runners to break a tie with Class A runner-up Scarborough and give Westbrook a victory. On Wednesday she was sixth overall as Westbrook beat Bonny Eagle.

1072343_139000 P. Pearl.jpgPatrick Pearl, Biddeford football: The senior wide receiver/ defensive back scored two touchdowns and caught three passes for 76 yards to help Biddeford beat Falmouth 17-14. Pearl also intercepted three passes, including two inside the 10.

HONORABLE MENTION

Bailey Sawyer, Westbrook football: The senior quarterback threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score as the Blue Blazes beat two-time Class B champ Marshwood.

Jackson Fotter, Gorham soccer: The senior forward led his 5-0 team to two wins this past week. Fotter had two goals and an assist in the a 4-0 win over Sanford (1-4-1) on Tuesday and three goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over Bonny Eagle (1-4) on Sept. 15.
