SANFORD — Patricia M. Adams, 76, of Sanford, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Patricia was born April 9, 1940, to Herman and Irene (Brulotte) Farrell in Sanford, where she grew up and attended local Catholic schools. She was employed for over 30 years at General Electric in Somersworth. She raised seven children, and was a devoted and loving mother.

Patricia was a devout Catholic who had served as a Eucharistic minister. She liked to travel, and had the opportunity to go to many different places around the world.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crafting and spending time at the beach. She had a great group of friends at Kathie’s Quilt Shop, where she enjoyed weekly quilting sessions with the “Wednesday Gang.”

Patricia loved to cook, and took pride in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. She would often prepare food for the Lincoln Press crew and for Father Phil during football season. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and would often host or attend garden parties with her friends. She also hosted baseball players in her home for 10 years for the Sanford Mainers.

Patricia was an outgoing, fun-loving person with many friends. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Leatrice F. Burnham.

She is survived by: seven children, Earl R. Adams Jr. and his wife Diana, Scott L. Adams and his wife Irene, Deborah L. Martin and her husband Anthony Sr., all of Sanford, Keith A. Adams of Alfred, Michael A. Adams and his wife Debbie of Springvale, Cindy Ann Perron and her husband Norman of Shapleigh, and Ethel M. Laskey and her husband Larry of Waterboro; 16 grandchildren, Jody, Cory, Stacy, Lori, Marc, Rae, Anthony Jr., Amber, Jamie, Chris, Mike, Zachary, Scotty, Eric, Lacey and Logan; 25 great-grandchildren; her brother, Clifford Farrell of Evergreen, Colorado; her brother-in-law, William Burnham of Sanford; a special nephew, Jeffrey; several nieces and nephews; and all her Sanford Mainers kids.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, Payne Street in Springvale.

The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff at Greenwood Center and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for the care and compassion shown to Patricia and her family during her illness.
