OCEAN PARK — Simonne (Croteau) Doyon, 80, of Ocean Park, died at Southridge Nursing Home in Biddeford on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, following a period of failing health.

She was born March 11, 1936, in Biddeford, the daughter of Joseph and Claudia (Martineau)

Croteau. On Feb. 16, 1957, she married Roland D. Doyon.

She worked for many years in the mills of Biddeford and Saco, and proudly earned her high school diploma in 1990. She loved camping with her family and going to yard sales with her sisters and granddaughter.

Simonne was preceded in death by: her husband, Roland; brothers Emilien (Pete), Raymond, Raoul and Norman Croteau; and older sisters Yvette Labonte, Lillian Cyr, Rachel LaFlamme, Fernande Edwin-Paige, Laurette Ouellette and Therese Croteau.

She is survived by: two sons, Guy R. Doyon and his wife Erica of Kennebunkport and their children Joseph and Emily, and Steve N. Doyon and his wife Katherine of Loudon, New Hampshire, and their sons Samuel and Matthew; three brothers, Robert Croteau of Saco, Wilfred Croteau of Old Orchard Beach and Jerry Croteau of Arundel; two sisters, Evelyn Menard of Massachusetts and Jacqueline Robson of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are under the care of Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco.

In lieu of flowers, Simonne’s family requests that you donate to a charity of your choice in her memory.

Her family would like to offer a special thanks to the patients and staff of Southridge Rehab for their unfailing care and service. Their love and friendship made her stay comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you also to the Compassus Hospice staff and volunteers for their love and devotion to making her last days as comfortable as possible.
