About three weeks ago, a cruise ship called the Crystal Serenity was anchored off Bar Harbor. It had just completed a journey through the now-ice-free Northwest Passage – the no-longer-mythical open passage through the Canadian Arctic.

Some passengers paid up to $100,000 to be on the first cruise ship to make the passage, which had never been possible before because of Arctic ice. This is a glaring symptom of the reality of global warming: It’s real and it’s happening. The proof is that it was safe enough to sail a cruise ship through a passage formerly choked with icebergs.

If you care about the future of America and the world, voting for climate change deniers like Donald Trump or Gary Johnson, who think that fossil fuel companies and billionaires have the right to turn a world that belongs to all of us into a smoking toilet, is not smart.

Hillary Clinton is the only potential president in the race who will address this issue. Young folk who don’t vote, or who do not vote for Hillary and Democrats down-ballot, may be signing a death warrant for the climate that both they and their children will inherit.
