BRUNSWICK — The board of directors of the Maine Running Hall of Fame recently announced its 2016 inductees.

Seven individuals will be honored on Nov. 13 at the Governor’s Hill Mansion in Augusta.

Ashby has set personal records at all distances from the mile (4:23) to the marathon (2:31:22). He coaches youth running and organizes races in memory of his wife’s family.

Podgajny has contributed to Maine running for the past 35 years. He has been a volunteer coach and meet director, founding the Maine Distance Festival in 1994. He has served as a Bowdoin College track and field official since 1995.

Others to be recognized are Larry Allen of Mt. Desert Island, Phil Pierce of Falmouth, Gretchen Read of Portland, Bill Reilly of Brownfield and Mike Westphal of Cranberry Isles.

The banquet is open to the public, but space is limited. Reservations are encouraged. The ceremony begins at noon. Tickets cost $25 per person and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com.
