I support Bill Linnell for Portland Board of Education in District 3.
Unlike his opponent, Laurie Davis, he fully supports the school board’s “Buildings for Our Future” planning report and proposed $70 million bond package.
Portland cannot continually wait decades to replace facilities that have long passed their time. Hoping that a school becomes so decrepit that it eventually qualifies for state aid means several generations of kids lose out.
Portland has first-class facilities for tourists – it should provide no less for the students.
He understands the need to implement pre-K programs citywide. Bill also is well aware of how important basic skills are to ensure all of the district’s students can sustain themselves in our community.
He is the best choice for the Board of Education in District 3.
