I am a Maine registered nurse, and I support “yes” on Question 1.

“Marijuana” (cannabis) is an herb that has been safely used for thousands of years. This herb creates homeostasis in the body, and it is physiologically impossible to overdose from cannabis.

We have a strong medical cannabis program in Maine, yet there are far too many suffering patients who do not have access to cannabis.

Many patients cannot afford to pay $150 to $300 for a doctor’s recommendation.

They are fearful of talking to their primary care doctor or nurse practitioner about cannabis due to cultural stigma around cannabis use.

Or they are unaware of how cannabis can be used to support healing through homeostasis.

The greater good for Maine’s public health is to legalize cannabis, and ensure through regulation that adults over age 21, and all adult patients seeking cannabis for healing through homeostasis, have access to safe, quality cannabis.
