U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont will hold a rally Tuesday night in Portland for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Sanders will appear at Deering High School, 379 Stevens Ave., at 6:30 p.m.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., according to the Hillary Clinton campaign website.

The event is billed as the Portland Stronger Together rally.

Sanders will talk about Clinton’s plans for the economy, raising the minimum wage, combating climate change, attaining sustainable energy, making public colleges and universities tuition-free and improving the criminal justice system.

Sanders, who was slow to endorse Clinton after he lost in the primaries, has since embraced her candidacy. He last appeared in Maine on Oct. 7 at a rally that drew about 300 supporters in Bangor.
