Two candidates from South Berwick are running for the Maine House seat in District 6, which is being vacated by outgoing Democratic House Speaker Mark Eves.

Jennifer Parker, a Democrat, is running against Manley Gove, a Republican.

The district covers parts of Berwick and South Berwick.

Neither Parker nor Gove responded to survey questions about themselves and their positions on key issues.

Parker, a former small-business owner, has posted on her Facebook page that her priorities are support for small businesses, equal access to education, and relief from property taxes at a time when there are surplus funds at the state level.

Gove, a business owner, has posted on his website that his priorities are protecting the taxpayers’ rights, increasing job opportunities and reducing regulations and taxes.
