I’m a working single mom, a PTA member and a volunteer in my community. The fear of stigma, the impact to my career and the legal risks of being associated with marijuana stopped me from sharing my story for a long time.

I’m speaking out because now is the time for Mainers to act. Voting “yes” on Question 1 gives us a big opportunity in an emerging industry. Our youth leave the state in droves for jobs across the country. A responsible, adult-use program can help Maine reverse that trend.

In addition to my day job, I’m a medical marijuana caregiver. A “yes” vote would minimize exposure to children, keep out big business and help people excluded from our medical marijuana program access life-changing medicine.

Voting “yes” on Question 1 for responsible, safe, adult marijuana use will boost tourism, provide tax revenue to the state, undermine the black market and help Mainers.
